DBM Express

DBM just moved me out of my home of 25 years where I lived with three children. It was a big, complex, emotional move. At all times I felt fully supported by DBM. I had been trying hard to stay within my budget. DBM were recommended by the estate agent I was using. The pricing was very competitive. At every point from the initial survey, through planning with the office staff and exploring several options, everyone I came in contact with was fantastic. And on the two days of the move, the crew were patient, fast, efficient, thoughtful and kind. I guess, with less that 48 hours since my move, I am still feeling the after effects of the emotional and physical upheaval but I cannot recommend DBM more highly. They were the the partners I needed in a challenging situation.

Going through insurance claim.

TV screen (£2500 worth tv) was damaged beyond repair.

Cabinet, in front of me, was snapped.

The guys worked hard, but they lack the know-how, preparedness and professionalism required. Hired because they are cheap and have very much regretted it.

They did turn up a day earlier to pre-pack -fine, but they took four additional hours to pack the next day which was potentially a breach of my purchase and sale contract of the property (we needed to vacate by 1pm - they knew this).

They worked around the clock, but wrapped the tv in a blanket and not bubble wrap as anyone else would do.

I had full evidence and photos showing the fingerprints on the screen, which were ALL from DBM. When Dragos, an employee of DBM came to view the damage once we tried to turn on the TV again, he wiped the fingerprints off despite my clear instructions not to. This was also done in front of my tenant.

Service cost: £576

First of all, the moving stuff did not know English much, so it was difficult to communicate. Towards the end of the packing, they started using only one wrap for two plates, putting fragile things to boxes without wraps, and they did not even use tape to close boxes. When we asked why, they said this was not their first time doing this. They opened our water bottles, and helped themselves without even asking us. When we got to the new flat, we started unpacking, and they did not want us to unpack, even said "what's the rush, do it when they are done." Most importantly, they were sloppy while packing, they just threw everything they saw into boxes, we found a knife vertically on top of leather shoes. Towards the end of the moving, they just got bored, and did not even place shelves into our bookcase. They asked whether we could do it, we said no, and they left the shelves unplaced anyway. As a result, the moving stuff was sloppy and rude, we would not have hired them if we knew.

We hired DBM to move the contents of a 5 bedroom Islington townhouse and garden up to Edinburgh. First, DBM's quote for the job was 25% less than 2 other firms. Every question I had during the house inspection was answered in a very positive "can do" manner.
Day one was packing. Day 2 was loading stuff into the 3 trucks. On the second day ( in the evening) the trucks drove overnight to Edinburgh. We flew up in the morning and met the DBM guys at our new house. Day 3 was for the unloading and reassembly of the beds and cribs and garden tables etc etc..
We were very pleased with the service provided. They had a lot of people on the job at both ends. 3 people packing on Monday. 6 to 8 loading on Tuesday and 6 drove up the 3 trucks on Tuesday night and unpacked in Edinburgh in the Wednesday morning.
All the guys were young and very polite and competent ( & ridiculously strong !!)
They had to remove a house rear window in London to get our dining table upstairs..again, no fuss, no problem.
Very happy with the whole process from initial quote, to queries before the move, then the packing and unloading. We would recommend DBM to anyone who is moving house.

I couldn't have been more impressed with the service received throughout my flat move. The contents of my one bedroom flat were packed meticulously and I was shocked by the care that had been taken to protect and label my belongings. I was concerned about some items of furniture that seemed like they wouldn't fit up the narrow staircase of my new property but the team had such a 'can do' positive attitude and nothing was too much of an ask (and was done!). The furniture was set out in the new flat so that nothing needed to be moved and they team were incredibly conscious of how stressful the moving process is and made sure that we were kept updated with their progress throughout the day.

The move was completed incredibly quickly, with a no nonsense, get the job done and get it done well attitude particularly given that it was a really hot day.

I wouldn't hesitate recommending DBM to anyone who is looking to move.

I would not recommend any other company for home removals. Their service is just top notch. They were very understanding with our situation of moving into a new build with dates constantly changing. When we finally moved all the men who helped us on the day were so professional, treated all our items with care and most importantly very friendly which made the whole process so easy.

I would also like to mention that their quote was also very competitive and reasonable.

We had to move.. yet again. Third time in three years. But I knew that we could rely on DBM to have things go smoothly and they delivered. Although they were a little later than initially planned, they communicated clearly about it and brought lots of people to make it go quickly. The whole thing was fast, professional and without a scratch anywhere. These guys are just great. And while I will never come to love moving, the process is made a lot nicer by using DBM express.

After 25 years living in one place in London, we decided on a move to Luton and started looking on comparemymove.com for a stress-free, full packing removal service. We obtained surveys from several firms ultimately booked our move with DBM Express, even though their quote was not the lowest all their reviews were 5 stars.

The completion of our purchase became delayed for 6 days, which was hugely stressful as we could have lost the deposit on the new house, but the team at DBM (thank you Bianca and Eduard) were very understanding and didn't add to the pressure we were under, which we were very grateful for.

It all thankfully worked out in the end and I can only say what thoroughly professional and pleasant people DBM were to deal with. Recommended without reservations and another deserved 5 stars.

I don't know where to start from?
The very responsive customer service before the day of the move?
Their flexible response when I was changing the details of my shipment.
On the day of the move I hadn't finished with the packing. The crew helped me to pack the remaining boxes.without making me feel stressed. On my most stressful day I had a company that made me feel relaxed. Everything happened on time.. I will 200% recommend DBM express :).

We were moving from one side of London to the other, and thought these guys were too good to be true considering their low quote and the good reviews on here. However, the whole experience was horrible.

They packed everything reasonably quick and were out in the time they promised, but there was no order to their process and stuff was all over the place, stuff insufficiently wrapped and just thrown in boxes. Despite being told repeatedly about things that were going or staying, they packed incorrect items and not others that they should have done. They went into the shed in the garden and started packing our neighbours property until I stopped them. Then they grumpily just threw the items back in and broke the door trying to shut it (the items were blocking the door). They then denied breaking the door despite me watching them do it.

After they left the property, we did a quick look around and found a broken plug socket. And several random screws and bolts from furniture they took apart.

When we arrived at the new property, they were already in the process of unpacking, again with no rhyme nor reason, not listening to where we wanted boxes.

They at first refused to re-build the furniture they had taken apart, then eventually did so unwillingly. After they left, we realized they had done a pretty terrible job of putting the bed back together (especially when it broke two nights later), and we noticed several bolts again were missing. The wardrobe also is not put together correctly.

We called the office to complain, and were told we were lying, none of the breakages actually happened and that all the furniture was put together correctly. Frankly, their manner on the phone was disgraceful.

I would obviously never use DBM Express again, and would advise everyone else to steer clear. But would recommend that anyone attracted by their low prices to photograph all their activity during the load and re-load, and to check any furniture they build before they leave. A really disappointing experience.

We got the guys in at DBM Express to help us with a full pack and removal service. We were moving from a 2 bed flat in London to a 1 bed brand new flat. The guys were fantastic from gathering the initial quote, customer service, reliability and the actual move day. The uniformed movers arrived on time and fully packed every item in our flat and hauled our belongings down 3 flights of stairs and down the road to our new place. Not one item was damaged during the move, the whole team at DBM were professional, friendly and extremely helpful. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend or use them again in the future. Their quote out weighed all other suppliers along with the outstanding customer service provided. It took every element of stress away from the move day and made it a very pleasurable experience.

I have used DBM express for 2 movings so far.
I was totally satisfied for both and even more for the second which occurred on 18th January.
The team is efficient, kind, polite and smiling.
The head of the team handled everything with care and attention. They are flexible and patient.
Customer service was perfect trying to find the best solution and price. The salesman was fair and had explained his views on the future service.
I have booked also a storage through them at a very good weekly rate.
My whole moving experience was excellent. I will definitely use them again if need be. I recommend.

I got several quotes for a move from London to Scotland and went with DBM because they seemed reliable and were the cheapest. In advance of the move, customer service was great and helpful, including around parking arrangements. For the move, which was a two day move, they arrived early both days. They boxed everything up nicely and nothing was broken.

They even spent ages getting my superking mattress up a narrow stairwell while trying to bend it as little as possible.

Only minor quibble was how long they took to unload - even with a lift (although only a tiny one for boxes) they took 8 hours on the arrival day, and had estimated 4. Not sure why it took so much longer than expected.

Overall would highly recommend - the guys were all hardworking, packed everything well and did the job as requested.

BE WARNED!!

By the very nature of DBM's dishonestly in dealing with my grievances
I am sure there may be a comment below rubbishing my claims.
It appears they have done similar things with other bad reviews.

Perhaps read them and make up your own mind.

I have nothing to gain from this review, I simply wish to warn people
about what they might encounter from the services at DBM.

If DBM wish to contact me, you have my details, we can resolve this
issue and I can amend this review accordingly.

Below is a précis of events and their incompetence.

As a cabinet maker I hired DBM to lift a heavy table I had made for a client into a
basement from the street.

They made assurances that the operation would be conducted as per my
instructions using four men and ropes.

On the day only three men turned up, they used no ropes and broke a very expensive table.

The team would not admit what they had done, accused me of trying to deliver
an already broken table, became aggressive and were asked to leave.

When phoned, Eduard (unsure of company role) admitted fault and offered appropriate compensation for repairs to their damage.

Since trying to chase this up I have been lied to, ignored and am now positive after giving
them many chances to rectify the situation that they just do not care.

If this is the kind of service you would like to receive when moving your valuable items
then they are the guys for the job!

DBM offers a service beyond expectation and we cannot thank them enough! Not only is the quality of communication excellent at every level but their desire to accommodate the vagaries of the house moving process could not have been bettered. Having suffered more than one change of date and finally a contract exchange the day before completion there was then a 3 hour wait to access our new property. The removal staff did an 11 hour day without complaint and remained courteous and kind at all times. If you want to find out how it really should be done go DBM!

We were nervous about using a relatively small and young company but they were a fraction of the cost the local big remover quoted. The reviews we saw convinced us to go with them. All the reviews concerning their high level of professionalism and care of the property they handle were true. We moved from a 5 bed detached house in a London suburb. They packed up our contents (which took over 10 hours )the day before we moved with great care. They may not have shiny new vans but no one could do a better job. Highly recommended.

Due to circumstances beyond our control we had to find a removal company to pack our 4-bedroom London house and move 182 miles to the Peak District. We had already received quotes from two national removal companies and were depressed at the size of their quotes and the lack of availability.

DBM Express came to our rescue, and were able to accomodate us within 48 hours. Eduard came the day after we called to survey the house. We were delighted when his quote was less than half that of the "big boys".

His team arrived promptly the following day, and worked tirelessly wrapping and packing our posessions. They were unfailingly courteous, very careful with our belongings which were wrapped perfectly and packed neatly onto their vans. They tidied up behind them and assured us that they would meet us at our new home at 8am the following day. Despite having to contend with a huge number of tradesman and their vans at our new property, they unpacked us as swiftly and efficiently as they had packed.

We have no hesitation in recommending DBM Express, and would never think of using one of the national chains ever again.
